Rob Clearfield Quartet

  • WUKY 2640 Spurr Road Lexington, KY, 40511 United States (map)

Now a native of Marseille, France, Rob Clearfield has established himself as one of Chicago's leading musicians. He has released six fantastic albums as a bandleader drawing from a diverse musical background that includes garage rock, gospel, South American music, and of course, Jazz. He is similarly accomplished as a supporting musician and has performed alongside Makaya McCraven, Caroline Davis, Fareed Haque, and Origins alumni Marquis Hill and Adam Larson. Clearfield recently played on Makaya McCraven's latest record In These Times. For this show, Clearfield will be joined by Greg Ward (sax), Sam Webber (bass), and Quin Kirchner (drums).

This is a very special show! It will take place at WUKY Studios, an intimate venue on Spurr Road that will be absolutely unforgettable. Seating will be limited to 50 tickets per set, with sets starting at 7:00pm and 9:00pm. Each will last about 70 minutes and the room will be turned between seatings. Seating will be close quarters.

There is plenty of on-site parking at WUKY Studios.

In 2016, Lexington's own Dave Sumner wrote the following about Clearfield: The pianist’s 2016 release was one of the very best things to hit the shelves that year, and his trio went both wide and deep with each melody, conjuring up every possible nuance while simultaneously expanding it through a whole array of images. It was a stunning presentation
