There will be two seatings for this show – one at 6pm and one at 8pm.
About the Artist: Two-time Grammy-nominated Charlie Hunter is considered one of most important guitar innovators of the last decades. He has developed the use of 7- and 8-string guitars that allows him to simultaneously serve as bassist and guitarist. This unique approach along with his keen rhythmic and harmonic sensibilities have led him to collaborations with D’Angelo, Norah Jones, Kurt Elling, Mos Def, and Butcher Brown, and many other, as well as an impressively long discography.
His latest trio features Nate Clark on saxophone and Marcus Finnie on drums. The group blends a tantalizing combination of Modern Jazz, Neo Soul, and Blues with the otherworld accent Clark’s electronically processed saxophone.
About the Space: The Apiary is one of the most enchanting venues in Lexington. The space sports beautiful old-world aesthetics with a warm and welcoming quality. We love the way their great room, The Orangerie, makes every concert feel like a living room show. One of the most memorable concerts we ever produced took place in March 2020 with Julian Lage and Dave King at the Apiary. The special energy present that night on the eve of the Covid-19 Pandemic taught us the magical quality of this space for music.
